Xiaomi Introduces Mi Notebook Air, Fires Shots At Apple's MacBook Air


Beijing based Xiaomi has delved into the world of Laptops. Introducing the brand new Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air which has a close identity to an Apple product. The Mi Notebook Air easily pitched as a rival to the 13in MacBook Air.

The Mi Notebook Air comes with an ultra thin bezel 13.3in screen, a discrete graphics card - are typically faster and is 11 percent smaller in size. It’s 13 percent thinner too, and a little lighter in weight: 1.2kg as compared to the MacBook Air’s 1.3kg.

Highlights of the Mi Notebook Air
  • Is a Windows 10 running operating system, 
  • With an Intel Core i5 2.7GHz processor, 
  • 8GB of RAM, 
  • An Nvidia GeForce 940MX GPU, and 
  • 256GB of SSD storage. 
  • The full-size keyboard has individually back lit keys, while the screen 
  • Has a full HD resolution.

There’s a USB Type-C port that will charge battery from 0 to 50 percent capacity in half an hour, and at full capacity Xiaomi says you can drag as much as 9.5 hours of  power out if it. It also comes with HDMI and USB 3.0 ports.

For your conviniency sake, if 13.3in is too stressful for your creamy lap, Xiaomi announced there will also be a 12.5in edition that will boast 11.5 hours of battery life, Intel Core M3, 4GB of RAM and 128GB SSD. The Mi Notebook Air is set to be very affordable: 4,999 yuan (£570, $750) for the 13.3in version and 3,499 yuan (£400, $525) for the 12.5in version respectively.
