Instagram provides iOS users with Pinch to Zoom on Photos and Videos

Instagram, is wrapping up the month of August with a pleasant surprise for its esteemed users. The company just announced an update to its iOS app, which will allow users to pinch to zoom on photos and videos. This new feature was announced by a twitter post, and takes effective on the iOS app, according to Instagram.

How does it work?

Simply, the new Instagram feature works with the media that generates on your standard feed including profiles on other people your following and also in the explore tab will all experience the pinch-to-zoom feature.

However, Instagram said “in the coming weeks” users on Android will experience the new feature.

Clearly, it’s obvious Instagram has finally listened and started addressing to the numerous appeals of its beloved users in the aspect of creating a zooming menu feature for Android and iOS platforms respectively. A video analyzing the pinch to zoom on photos and videos feature was released by Instagram.

A close look at the new feature shows, the effect of a lightbox gradually evolving out when the user zoom of the original frame. It’s more of a cool way in getting the juicy details of your photos or videos, however, it pays to throw caution to the wind by not zooming outrageously in order to keep the beauty of the photo or video from getting distorted.

Meanwhile, 1080 pixels is still been maintained as the default uploads for photos on Instagram.
