Building A “DIGITAL” Nigeria: CECAD, NCC others Partner for Nigeria Digital Agenda (Photos)

On April 1st, the Centre for Cyber Awareness and Development (CECAD), publishers and producers of Cyber Africa magazine and television in collaboration with Nigeria Communications Commissions (NCC) organized a session for stakeholders to converge and set a new tone for Nigeria’s Digital Agenda. It was the third event in the series and a selected team of high-profile panelists, thought leaders and audience drawn from both the public and private sectors of the Nigeria’s economy to articulate best ways for the nation’s development in the digital world.

The event which is a breakfast forum has as its theme “Beyond Oil – Digital Opportunities a Veritable Alternative driven by Policy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship.”

According to the Executive Director, Centre for Cyber Awareness and Development (CECAD) Bayero Agabi, “as oil prices which have been the country’s main stay continues on a downward trend, the need for diversification into ICT with the exploration of digital opportunities has become more than ever before  relevant.” 

Therefore, the Nigeria Digital Agenda will examine topical issues revolving around digital ecosystem like challenges of the young entrepreneurs in a digital age; growing innovations and the role of government; evolving cost effective business solutions for SMEs; intellectual property protection in a digital environment; Cyber crime and cyber security; Security of e-transactions as well as evolving digitally friendly policies.
