Beware Apple as Microsoft unfolds Surface Laptop with "Windows 10 S"

Microsoft yesterday unfolds a new product - The new Surface Laptop and it's pretty amazing. The Surface Laptop definitely is set to give Apple's new MacBook a run for its money.

The new notebook from Microsoft runs on a new operating system called, "Windows 10 S" ditching the Windows operating system and is especially focused on the education sector for students who are entering college and the company is optimistic its new product will attract schools globally.

Let's explore the features of the Surface Laptop. The laptop boast of an elegant, creamy design as Microsoft thoroughly capitalize on some deficiencies people observed with the new Macbook to further improve on their latest product by skillfully using an alcantara fabric to design the keyboard while integrating speakers underneath the keyboard and has a 1.5mm travel keys with backlit.

In the meanwhile, it is no longer news, Apple is working tirelessly to end USB ports on its series of Macbook models but the new MacBook comes with USB-C ports - which didn't satisfy consumer yearnings plus a gifted headphone jack. However, Microsoft observed people didn't really buy the idea of the new MacBook concept which prompted them to include everything Apple left out, also removed the features they did include like the USB-C port, magnetic charger, and a miniDisplay. In essence, it simply implies that consumer has the power to either support or be against USB-C type port.

It's obvious color adds spark to life and the Microsoft Surface Laptop provides more color options aside from the norm - (black or white). Platinum, cobalt blue, burgundy, and graphite gold are the color options available. The new device weighs less than three pounds.

In addition, it possesses a PixelSense display ration of 3:2, arguably “..thinnest LCD touch model ever created and put into a laptop,” according to Panay. While the display screen supports 3.4 million pixels with a Pen available to the user for drawing skills.

Here are some minor flaws of the Surface Laptop from close observations:
  1. Lack of Type-C port.
  2. The bezels, considering we are in 2017 has dominated virtually all laptops.
  3. Bing is your default search engine and cannot be changed to any other browser due to the new "Windows 10 S".
Supposedly, the Surface Laptop is said to be very quick with its i5 or i7 processor (optional) and claims to run for a long 14.5 hours on a single charge. There's the tendency for those affirmations may vary, so for patient people, it is better to wait for real life reviews.

Preorders start today, and it will be available on June 15.

The Core i5 model with 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD will start at $999, it’s only available in the silver “Platinum” finish.
