The Facebook sponsored “CyberXchange Hackathon Conference” is finally coming to Africa for the very first time and Lagos, Nigeria has been chosen to be its first point of call.
CyberXchange 2016 Conference, is the largest cybersecurity hackathon competition to ever hit Africa. The hackathon is being hosted in partnership with Facebook who have set foot in Africa and are making even larger strides towards the global epidemic of cybersecurity.
The goal of the Hackathon during this conference is to bring the brightest university students and young professionals to come with amazing ideas and creativity.
Facebook Hackathons are a longstanding tradition at Facebook where its engineers work over many hours to create a working product or prototype from scratch. The cybersecurity hackathon at CyberXchange 2016 will uphold the same rigors.
The conference is scheduled to kick-off in Nigeria on 2nd and 3rd November, 2016 and has promised to make the two days a power-packed one with lots of hacking, learning and having some fun!
You will have the opportunity to build a hack against a cyber security issue and with a team of up to 5 people (university and young professionals with less than 2 years experience throughout Nigeria) you will stand the chance of winning amazing prizes, worldwide exposure of your company and university team, some expert guidance from Facebook engineers and so much more.
More so, if your team is the kind that loves eating when working that will be taken care of as food supply and fun diversions are part of the game. All what you and your team need is to bring your laptop, appetite, skills and ideas to the conference.
"Qualifiers will be required to start brainstorming ideas & form a team of up to 4 people. Refreshments, fun diversions, prizes, and some expert guidance from Facebook’s team of experts will be provided. All participants need bring is a laptop, appetite, skills and ideas."
The pre-qualifier registration closes August 30th. Notifications to those who are accepted will be sent out by end of day on September 24th. The final competition will hold on November 2nd-3rd 2016 at the Landmark event Center Lagos.
